
Totally destroyed during WWII, the Old Town and the Royal Castle were reconstructed and found their way on UNESCO'
World Cultural Heritage list. Very popular with tourists are the Old Town Square lined with burgher houses, Royal Castle, Barbican and the Gothic St John's Cathedral. Along the Royal Way visitors will find many old churches and palaces, including the Holy Cross Church where reposes the urn with Frederick Chopin's heart. Worth a visit are two royal palace and park complexes: the ζzienki - summer residence of the last Polish king, and the baroque Wilan闚 - suburban residence of King Jan III Sobieski. The highest building in Warsaw, the Palace of Culture and Science in the city's centre is a gift from the Soviet Union. From the terrace on the 30th floor enfolds a splendid, panoramic view over the city and its environs. Warsaw hosts many top-class cultural events: Jazz Jamboree, Warsaw Autumn, Mozart Festival, and the Chopin Piano Competition every fifth year.

Set on the bank of the Vistula, the small village of Czerwi雟k boasts a Romanesque church. The three-nave stone basilica topped with two high towers preserved much of its 12th century Romanesque character, although in the later years it was remodeled in the Gothic, Renaissance and baroque styles. It preserved its Romanesque portal (1150) and the paintings in the Crucifixion Chapel as well as its Gothic frescoes. From the terrace near the church enfolds a splendid view over the opposite Vistula bank and the Kampinos Forest.

with its originally Romanesque Cathedral of Our Lady (12th c.), later reshaped in the Gothic and Renaissance styles, fragments of the castle of the Mazovian Princes and remains of the Benedictine abbey. Other historical monuments include churches, convents, neoclassical toll-gates, houses in the neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau styles as well as granaries on the high Vistula bank. Pu速usk has a rich history and a 400m long market square. The wealth of the city's historical buildings consists of its late-Gothic tower of the former town hall, fragments of the fortified walls with two towers, 15th century collegiate church with uncovered Renaissance frescoes inside. Folk culture has always been thriving in this little village of the Kurpie ethnographic region, also known for its fine traditional wooden architecture. Here a competition for Easter 'palms' is held on Palm Sunday. Some specimens are about 10m tall, carried by the faithful dressed in colorful costumes.
The ruins of the 14th century castle of the Mazovian Princes are found on the hilltop upon the Bzura River. One of Poland's major museums of the narrow-gauge trains. The permanent exhibition of the diverse rolling stock specimens (100 items) includes locomotives, carriages, trolleys, ammunition carriers, passenger cars that can move on rails, and a horse-drawn railway wagon. From May through September tourists can enjoy rides through the Kampinos Forest.
This little village is worldwide known because Frederick Chopin was born here in a manor that today stands in the middle of a beautiful park with about 500 different species of trees an shrubs.The manor houses Chopin's biographic museum with the composer's and his family portraits.
