     The former twin-towered 18th century cathedral, St John the Baptist Church from the turn of the 18th century and the ruins of the bishops' palace are the major historical building of Janów Podlaski. In the Wygoda village, 3 kilometers away, is Poland's oldest (est. in 1817) stud farm with approx. 500 individuals, specializing in rearing of thoroughbred Arab horses. The elegant stable complex (19th c.) can be visited. The farm has its own burial grounds for horses. The annual national show of Arab thoroughbreds and the famous international auction is organized in August. >>>>

     The baroque palace of the Zamoyski family at Kozłówka belongs to the best-preserved magnate residences in Poland. Unique underground chalk tunnels - Chełm

     The city has old Catholic and Orthodox churches. The most noteworthy is the Piarist Church from the 18th century. On the Cathedral Mountain stands the former Uniate church surrounded by a complex of religious buildings that were once a bishops' palace and a monastery. Chełm's star attraction is its underground chalk tunnels that run under the city for 2 kilometers at the depth of 27 meters and create a unique tourist route.
